Ikarus flew higher and higher. Finally, near the sun his wax wings melted and he fell into the sea. Thereafter, us Greeks call the sea Ikarion.

How to say: “until his wings melted”?

No, it should be “升职”，“升职‘is only for the job，means you do very good job, so your company give you a higher position for your job.
“升级”means level up，for examole：you can say“我的游戏升级了”
