How to Series: Juggle a Ball with your Feet

With the fantastic weather we’ve been experiencing recently, the SexyMandarin team decided its about time we headed outside to teach some serious life skills… like how to bend it like Beckham by juggling a ball with your feet…

(…and as a bonus, juggling with your forehead!)

 

 

TERMS:

Ball – 球  Qiú

Juggle – 变戏法 Biànxìfǎ

Kick – 踢 Tī

Soccer – 足球  Zúqiú

Trick – 招  Zhāo

 

HOW TO JUGGLE WITH YOUR FEET:

Lift off!

Step 1 – Starting with your foot on top of the ball, roll the ball toward yourself using your sole and toes.

 

Roll the ball back with your foot...

Step 2 – With your toes, then flick the ball into the air using a scooping action…

Step 3 – …and catch the ball with the top of your dominant foot! Use your leg for extra support, creating a cup / crevice for the ball to rest.

*** NB: If you find this move difficult to master, you can drop the ball so that it bounces instead…

 

Catch the ball with your feet!

 

Step 4 – Flick the ball with the lower front part of your foot into the the air (not too high – or it becomes hard to manage!)

 

 

Flick the ball into the air...

 

Step 5 – Keep the ball going by kicking the ball up your feet repeatedly!

Once you have the hang of it, try alternating your feet…

 

Kick the ball into the air...

Keep Practicing!
